Ducky Derby: Over 80,000 rubber duckies will be poured into the Chicago River today for the 2023 Chicago Ducky Derby to benefit the Special Olympics of Illinois. Splashdown takes place at 1pm off the Columbus Bridge. Get all the details before the event!
The Bean: Soak in all the views of The Bean that you can because starting next week, you won’t be able to. Beginning Tuesday, August 15 the area surrounding the Bean will be closed for construction until Spring of 2024. Grainger Plaza surrounding The Bean will be closed off to replace pavers and make other needed repairs to improve accessibility.
Taste Lineup: Chicago just released both the food and music lineup for the 2023 Taste of Chicago that will be held in September for the first time ever (due to the NASCAR race). See which food vendors are going to be there this year.
Chicago Ice Cream: Make sure you are taking advantage of ice cream season! It’s short lived! The 26 best ice cream shops in Chicago were ranked and you might be surprised to find out that Jeni’s didn’t crack the top 10. See if your favorite spot made the list.
