Chicago News

  • Lolla Aftershows: The official list of Lollapalooza Aftershows has dropped, and the tickets go on sale tomorrow, Friday, May 30, at 10 a.m. There will be more than 40 musical artists performing across the city’s different venues like the Salt Shed, House of Blues, Cobra Lounge and the Aragon from July 30-Aug. 3. Performers at this year’s Aftershows include names like Foster the People, Bleachers, Magdalena Bay, Djo, BOYNEXTDOOR and more. Full lineup.

  • Jeremy Allen White: Season 4 of The Bear comes out in less than a month (June 25), but Jeremy Allen White has been seen around Chicago lately (“You look exactly like Jeremy Allen”) for a different reason, and he’s not the only star that’s here right now. White has been spotted around Chicago with Austin Butler, as have Jason Bateman and David Harbour. All four of them even went to a Cubs game together. Here’s what each duo is filming.

  • Adalina Prime: The group behind Gold Coast’s Adalina is opening a new steakhouse in Fulton Market this July called Adalina Prime. The space will seat around 370 and feature soaring ceilings, a dramatic wine cellar and an open kitchen. Michelin-starred chef Soo Ahn is leading the menu, which will spotlight steak, seafood and seasonal vegetables.

  • CosMc’s: McDonald’s is shutting down all five of its CosMc’s locations next month, including the original in Bolingbrook. The colorful drink spinoff launched in 2023 and went viral at first but didn’t stick with customers. Some of the drinks might live on though, with items like the Churro Frappe and Popping Pear Slush possibly joining the regular McDonald’s menu later this year.

  • Jook Sing: West Town’s Asian fusion spot and cocktail bar Jook Sing announced on Instagram that it will close on June 28 after two years in business. The team says it’s goodbye for now but they hope to return one day with a new, smaller concept.

  • Red Light Chicken: If you’re a fan of fried chicken, Red Light Chicken in Lincoln Park needs to be on your list. It looks unassuming from the outside but serves one of the best chicken sandwiches in Chicago. They’re just $7.99 and absolutely worth it.

  • Free Museum Days: Illinois residents can take advantage of 21 total free days this month at the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium, Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago History Museum and the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry.

  • Do Division: West Town’s biggest street fest, Do Division, is back this weekend from May 30 to June 1. There will be two music stages, local food, a family fun area and the return of Do Fashion. It runs along Division from Damen to Leavitt with a $10 suggested donation at the gate.

  • Porchfest: This Sunday, June 1, from 1 to 5 p.m., Lakeview's front porches will transform into stages for local musicians during PorchFest Lakeview. It’s a neighborhood music festival unlike anything else. You need tickets to attend, and they are cheaper if you buy them online in advance.
