Threads: Meta, the parent company of Instagram and Facebook, just launched a new Twitter competitor yesterday. This new social platform is called Threads, and it also focuses on a newsfeed of text-based posts and closely resembles the Twitter platform. We already kicked off our page with some pretty fun Chicago posts that you won’t find anywhere else. Check us out!
The Blue Paradox: A cool, new exhibit just opened over the weekend at the Museum of Science and Industry. It’s a completely immersive experience that takes you deep below the depths of the ocean while exploring the plastic pollution crisis. We checked it out and it was amazing! Watch our video.
Riverwalk Flooding: We finally got rain in Chicago, and we got a lot of it. Like too much. You may have seen some of the crazy videos with flooded streets as there were many in the Chicagoland area. Another area that was flooded was the Chicago Riverwalk. We were shocked when we saw that i had pretty much disappeared in one day as it sat almost completely underwater. It was so bad that you couldn’t even see Tiny Tapp’s patio.
NASCAR Chicago: Think the NASCAR race over the weekend was a big failure? Turns out that not even the rain could stop the massive television numbers the race put up on both a local and national level. See how many millions of people tuned in to watch the race. There was also a wild situation where the track was broken into overnight.
Radio Room Closes: The River North bar and restaurant Radio Room, 400 N State St, has abruptly closed after two years. The restaurant opened in July of 2021 and was formerly Public House. The restaurant ownership group, DineAmic Hospitality, has been focusing on and prioritizing their other new concepts around Chicago.

The Grove: Do you like food challenges? Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest this week and it got us in the mood to share “The Grove” at Utopian Tailgate, which partially comes in a fun red grill pictured above!
Lookingglass Theatre: It appears that the Lookingglass Theatre is really struggling right now as they have paused operations after 35 years and are laying off staff.
Mini Putt Bar: If you are a fan of miniature golf, you will be excited to know that Big Mini Lakeview just opened! They are the new sister bar to Big Mini Putt Club in Wicker Park.
