Chicago News

  • Michelin Stars: The annual Michelin Guide was just announced this week, and Chicago now has 21 restaurants with at least one Michelin Star! Perhaps the biggest news is that Alinea is no longer Chicago’s only three-start restaurant as Smyth in West Loop has now earned the prestigious honor as well. Three Chicago restaurants earned two stars and 16 restaurants earned one star. See the full list organized by stars.

  • Alinea Giveaway: Speaking of Alinea, did you see that we are currently hosting an Alinea giveaway on our Instagram page?! Yes, really! If you haven’t entered yet, don’t miss your chance to win a dinner for two at Chicago’s best restaurant.

  • Super Bowl: Well not exactly, but tonight might be the closest the Chicago Bears get to playing in one this season. The Bears host the Carolina Panthers tonight at Soldier Field for this week’s Thursday Night Football matchup (7:15pm on Amazon TV). So why is the game such a big deal? The Bears want the first pick in the next NFL draft, and tonight’s game will play a big factor.

Just for Fun

  • Sushi Bar Chicago: We recently checked out Chicago’s newest sushi speakeasy that is hidden inside Lady May in River North. This intimate, 12-seat Omakase experience is something you should consider adding to your special occasion, date-night list.

  • The Bear: If you are a fan of the television show The Bear, we have good news! FX’s Hulu announced earlier this week that the show has officially been renewed for a third season that will premier in 2024. Here is everything that is known thus far.

  • Work From Home: Do you wish that you could work from home more often? If so, you’re not alone. According to a new study, only 22% of employees actually want to be in the office, which is likely due to the cost associated with going in. Take a guess at how much it costs per day (on average) for workers to go into the office. Answer.

  • French Market: This weekend, Nov. 11 and 12, is the 19th edition of the Lycee French Market in Lincoln Square. For one weekend each year, the Lycee Francais de Chicago campus turns into a French market with shopping, food, drinks and entertainment.

  • How Did This Get Made: Tonight at the Riviera Theatre in Uptown is a live taping of the podcast How Did This Get Made?. Comedians Paul Scheer, June Diane Raphael and Jason Mantzoukas take you behind the scenes of how some of the worst movies of all time were made.

  • Jungle Book Reimagined: Today through Saturday (Nov. 9-11), you can see the Chicago premier of Jungle Book reimagined, a contemporary dance and visual performance, at Harris Theater in Millennium Park.
