Labor Day in Chicago: Labor Day weekend is somehow almost upon us already. Summer in Chicago really flies by doesn’t it? The good news is that if you are looking for something fun to do, there is a lot happening around the city for the holiday weekend. Here are Labor Day weekend guides from Choose Chicago and Block Club Chicago.
Illinois Flag: The state of Illinois is looking for a new flag. Yes, really. The current flag was first adopted 55 years ago back in 1969. However starting next week, the Illinois Flag Commission will begin accepting entries for a state flag redesign. 10 finalists will be selected and voted on by the public. This redesign looks to be gaining some early attention.
Chicago Sports: As Chicago sports fans know, life comes with the good and the bad. The good? The Chicago Bears outlook for this season and this fan’s awesome Bear Cave. The bad? Here is what the White Sox game looked like yesterday right before first pitch.
Lawry’s Space: According to Crain’s Chicago, the former Lawry’s Prime Rib restaurant space at 100 E. Ontario St. is finally going to be getting a new tenant after four years of sitting empty. A new entertainment dining concept involving magic will be taking over.
Roti: In a bit of a surprise, the Chicago-based, fast-casual Mediterranean chain Roti just declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy. It seems like CAVA is quickly taking over the market.

Ted Lasso: Did everyone see the surprise TV news that Ted Lasso will now return for Season 4 on Apple TV? Jason Sudeikis is expected to be back in his role as Ted in addition to a bunch of the other stars reprising their roles. However, it sounds like at least one of the main characters won’t be returning.
Lake Michigan BMX: If you didn’t see our video this week of the BMX bikers going full send off a 6-foot ramp into Lake Michigan, you have to check it out. They got some serious height on these jumps. Chicago is truly one of a kind.
