Chicago Restaurant Week - Menu Pick of the Week
If you missed our in-depth review of Chicago Restaurant Week in our last newsletter, you should go back and read it as it will prepare you well for what's to come in January. Speaking of which, our next Chicago Restaurant Week (CRW) menu that we think will be worth checking out is: Aba's Brunch Menu.
For this brunch menu, you get an alcoholic beverage, a choice from the "Spreads & Mezze" category and a choice from the "Plates" category, all for only $25. At a potential value of around $47 (depending on your menu selections), this is one that is absolutely worth trying! By getting three items, you can be confident you are saving money with this menu regardless. The best part, however, is all the choices they give you!
Starting off with your beverage, they give you six options to choose from including cocktails, beer, wine and a zero proof option. For the "Spreads & Mezze" category, there are seven dishes to choose from! Lastly, the "Plates" category has four options to choose from. We think the move here would be to go with a group of 3+ people and order a variety of dishes and view them all as "shared plates" for the table.
Aba is a restaurant where you are meant to order many plates and share. If you go on a double date or with friends, a group of four could theoretically share eight dishes and each enjoy a cocktail for only $25 per person at this pretty upscale restaurant! Go to the CRW site and search Aba to find the menu. If we decide to dine at Aba's for CRW, here are the selections we would likely make:
Drinks: Passionfruit G&T and Mediterranean Mule
Spreads & Mezze: Whipped Feta and Crispy Potatoes
Plates: Kefta & Eggs and Grilled Chicken Kebab
