  • Halloween Dog Party: This Saturday, Oct. 26 is the 37th Annual Streeterville Dog Halloween Party. If you like seeing dogs in funny costumes, this event is for you! Admission is free, but there is a suggested $10 donation to PAWS Chicago if you so choose. The event takes place at the Museum of Contemporary Arts from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. You must register your pet and leashes are required.

  • Snow Predictions: According to the 2024-25 U.S. winter AccuWeather forecast, Chicago may be in store for more snow this winter compared to recent years. They are predicting that Chicago will get somewhere between 30-45 inches of snow this winter season, which would be up from the 22 inches last year. Similarly, they are predicting 25-35 total snow days compared to last year’s 17. People sounded off about the news on our post.

  • Barnes & Noble: The beautiful Noel State Bank building in Wicker Park is finally opening again. You may recall that the former Walgreens store, with the iconic Vitamin Vault, closed at the beginning of 2023. The new tenant? Barnes & Noble. After being pushed back multiple times, their opening day is now finally set and scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 10 a.m.

  • Kuma’s Corner: After seven years, Kuma’s Corner in Fulton Market is permanently closing. The restaurant chain is known for their heavy metal theme, loud music and thick burgers. With this closing, and the Chapter 11 bankruptcy, there will now only be three Kuma’s Corner restaurants left: the original one in Avondale, one in Schaumburg and one more in Indianapolis.

  • Postponed Concerts: Two of the United Center’s biggest remaining concerts of the year have been postponed. Justin Timberlake just announced that his concert on Oct. 27 will be moved to Feb. 14 due to him being sick. Separately, Shakira has canceled her Dec. 14 concert in Chicago due to too much ticket demand. She is planning to move to stadiums beginning in May 2025.

  • $15 All You Can Eat: What if we told you there is a West Loop restaurant that is offering unlimited pizza, pasta and salad on Fridays for $15. Like you, we are a little suspicious that it sounds too good to be true. If it’s legit, it might just be the best deal in Chicago right now.
