The annual Switch on Summer event will be taking place at the fountain from 12pm to 3pm. There will be live entertainment, food, vendor tents and more. Check out our video to see what it looks like!

  • Chicago's New Casino: If you haven't heard, Chicago is in the process of landing a giant downtown casino, and it's only a few years away. It will be taking over the space at the Chicago Tribune printing plant (777 W. Chicago Ave) in River West. As part of the deal, Bally's is considering selling an ownership slice of the casino to Chicago residents.

  • AAPI Restaurants Week: Beginning tomorrow, to celebrate AAPI Heritage Month, 50+ Asian American and Pacific Islander-owned restaurants will be partaking in the second annual AAPI Restaurants Week from May 12-21. During this time, restaurants in the Chicago area will be offering deals to show off their cuisine. Learn more and see the list of participating restaurants.

  • Sauced Night Market: The Sauced Night Market is back this weekend for the first time since before Covid. It takes place tomorrow and Saturday from 5pm-10pm at House of Vans (113 N Elizabeth St). It's free to attend (subject to capacity) and there will be vendors, food, drinks a muralist painting live and more! Reserve a spot before they run out.

  • Morgan Wallen Tour: Morgan Wallen posted on Instagram this week that the remainder of his summer tour is in jeopardy after he was diagnosed with vocal cord trauma. He isn't supposed to talk/use his voice much for the next six weeks, which puts his June Wrigley Field concerts into question even though he hasn't canceled them yet. The Blackhawks Are So Back

Lottery Winners: Chicago's professional hockey team got some incredibly good news this week as they won the lottery...literally! The Blackhawks lucked into securing the number one pick in the upcoming NHL draft during Monday's lottery!

On the surface, that's a big deal! What makes it an even bigger deal is a certain player in the draft that they are now going to be able to pick! There is a "generational prospect" named Connor Bedard up for grabs, and he is supposed to be really really good. How excited are Blackhawks fans? We'd say pretty excited considering they spent $5.2 million in season tickets just in the first 12 hours after the news came out about having the first pick!

And if ticket sales aren't enough to prove how ecstatic Chicago fans are right now, maybe this hilarious reaction video from the Blackhawks will do the trick. It looks like Chicago's hockey team may be good again before we know it!

Video of the Week

Best Neighborhood in America: Speaking of winning the lottery, you might need to if you want to afford a home in this affluent Chicago suburb! According to Nick Gershon, a realtor and TikToker, the best neighborhood in America sits right outside of downtown Naperville. With those resale prices, maybe he is right!

Poll of the Week

It's a hot summer day and you are in charge of getting stuff for a group of your friends, which row are you choosing?
